Author Guidelines

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION

  1. Persahabatan Respirology Journal accepts only manuscripts that are completely original, have not been previously published, and are not under review by any other publication at the time of submission.
  2. Submissions may include original research articles (ART), case reports (CAS), or literature reviews (REV) in the scope of pulmonology and respiratory medicine. Topics welcomed by the journal include but are not limited to: asthma, lung physiology, respiratory infection including tuberculosis, thoracic oncology, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, precision medicine, environmental tobacco control, intensive care, sleep-related disorder, occupational pulmonary disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and pulmonary intervention and emergency medicine
  3. Authors must register prior to submitting their manuscript by visiting the journal’s website at http://www.persahabatanrespijournal.or.id. Step-by-step registration guidance is available in the User Registration Guide on the website.
  4. Manuscripts must be written in clear, academic English and follow the editorial standards of Persahabatan Respirology Journal.
  5. Submissions must be created using Microsoft® Word and saved as a .docx file. The text should follow these formatting rules:
    • Font: Arial, size 10 pt
    • Paper size: A4
    • Line spacing: single
    • Layout: double-column, fully justified
    • Margins: 2.5 cm on all four sides
    • Pages must be numbered consecutively using numeric footers (1, 2, 3, ...)

  7. Manuscript file name format is (institution)-(main author surname)-(ART/CAS/REV)-; 
    example: NIH-Fulan-ART-COPD.docx
  8. Each manuscript submission must include the following additional files:
    • A Publishing Agreement Form (printed, signed, scanned as PDF): DOWNLOAD HERE
    • A Turnitin plagiarism check result (PDF format)

INSTRUCTIONS FOR TITLE AND ABSTRACT

  1. The manuscript title should be brief, clear, and relevant for indexing purposes. Capitalize the first letter of each word, and ensure the full title does not exceed 20 words. If the article was previously presented at a conference or oral session, include the event name, date, and location as a footnote.
  2. A running title must be placed directly below the main title. It should also be short and descriptive, appropriate for indexing use, and written with each word capitalized. The length must be no more than 140 characters, including spaces. Avoid the use of colons (:), semicolons (;), or dashes (–) in the running title.
  3. An abstract must follow immediately under the running title. It should be structured and limited to 250 words. The abstract must clearly outline the following sections:
    • Background/Introduction
    • Methods
    • Results
    • Conclusion
  4. Include up to ten relevant keywords placed below the abstract. These keywords do not need to be reworded from the title. Each keyword must be separated by a comma (,).

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHOR(S) INFORMATION

  1. Author details must be listed immediately after the manuscript title and should include the following information in the specified order for each contributing author:
    • Full name (first, middle if applicable, and last name — excluding academic or professional titles)
    • Active email address
    • Full institutional affiliation
    • Complete mailing address, including postal/ZIP code
    • Institutional website (if available)
    • Telephone and/or fax number
  2. If the article has multiple authors, this information must be provided for each individual.
  3. Authors are encouraged to add researcher identifiers such as ORCID, Scopus ID, or SINTA ID below their full name.
  4. The corresponding author must be clearly marked using an appropriate symbol (e.g., *), and should be reachable via the email provided. Use of an official institutional email is highly recommended for professional correspondence.
  5. Institutional names and addresses must be written in official English format, consistent with the naming convention used by each author’s affiliated organization.
  6. Phone and fax numbers must follow the international format:
    +(country code)-(area code if applicable)-(number)

MANUSCRIPT PAGE

  1. Manuscript must follow Abstract and must include the content of the manuscript. Manuscript must be at least three pages and must be no more than 15 pages.
  2. Manuscript for ART type must consist of
    • Introduction
    • Method
    • Results
    • Discussions
    • Conclusions
  3. Manuscript for CAS type must consist of:
    • Introduction
    • Method
    • Results
    • Discussions
    • Conclusions
  4. Manuscript for REV type must consist of:
    • Introduction
    • Review
    • Conclusions
  5. Graphs and tables must be attached to the Manuscript Page. Graphic and table must be numbered by the order of the appearance within the Manuscript Page.
  6. Each graphic and table must be numbered according to its order of appearance throughout the manuscript. Each graphic and table title must be typed in 10 pt and single spaced.
    Graphic title must be placed below respective graphic. Table title must be placed above respective table.
  7. Table must not be presented as picture (.bmp, .gif, .jpg, .png, etc). Table should be prepared in portrait orientation and must not be separated between pages. Only horizontal table bars allowed; table bar must be bordering topmost and bottommost part and must be bordering table header and table content. Submission must not exceed accumulatively six graphics and tables.

REFERENCE

  1. Reference and citation style must be written in English and stylized using Vancouver style. Please refer the Vancouver guideline for citation and journal abbreviation: https://wilkes.libguides.com/c.php?g=191948&p=1266458
  2. Reference citation must be numbered by the order of citation and must be typed superscript throughout the manuscript.
  3. Citation manager application (BibTeX, EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero, etc) is recommended to prepare the manuscript.
  4. Manuscript must include at least one reference article from a previous Persahabatan Respirology Journal issue.
